The room flooded with bright stroboscopic light and sounds of war. A silhouetted figure moved toward Cale as bodies and bullets streamed past the open door behind it. He shrunk back a step and bumped into the bed frame. Then, the shadows started to fall away, evaporating like gasoline as the man approached, revealing Jude and his outstretched hand. “Cale! What are you doing? Com’on, we gotta go, now!”
