Horror Author Biography : Tyr Kieran
My goal: to write vivid, unique, and deviously fun Horror Fiction novels.
My name is Tyr Kieran – \Tie-er Keer-awn\ – and I’m a storyteller… a writer of dark, wicked tales from a festering imagination held in check for too long. I used “festering”, because I wasn’t always on the path of a wordsmith.
I began writing Horror Fiction in the spring of 2009 when an epiphany struck my brain. I finally noticed the part of me that was starving for a goal adjustment. My job, I suddenly realized, was just that—a means of funds and not the passion-invoking career I thought it was.
The moment of epiphany was quite jarring; it was as if my subconscious had finally had enough. Tired of sitting alone behind the dusty desk of creative writing, he jumped up, broke the emergency glass, and lodged the axe of enlightenment right between my eyes; my heart skipped a beat and everything! From that point forward, I vowed to write until my final breath for better or worse.
Why Horror? That’s certainly a valid question, but I’m not so sure I have a satisfactory answer for you. The best I can do is, “It’s just the way I’m wired.” My aforementioned subconscious is a devious thing with grimy fingers. Every story concept veers into the shadows by his mischievous influence. My hands may be steering the ship, but his are on the compass… and it suits me fine.
My goal is to offer the Horror Fiction world something vivid, unique, and deviously fun! I write to take readers on an adventure they won’t get anywhere else; stories full of imagery and emotion that will latch on early and never let go, tales structured on solid plots with Formula One twists and characters so real you’ll try to send them Christmas cards. I want to reach into the dark unknown and show its writhing dangers and treasures in brilliant detail. Simply, my goal is to transfer the passion I have for a good story to you, through my writing.
